Which Florida Online Traffic School Courses Do I Need to Take?
If you have received points as a result of a traffic violation, then it is likely you have been told which course you are required to complete. The different courses are defined as follows:
The 4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course Online is, as the name implies, the most basic and most commonly required course. This 4-hour course meets the needs of the majority of ticket dismissal requirements. This course allows individuals to: Remove traffic ticket points, avoid insurance premium increases, fulfill court orders and keep their licenses in the event that they are convicted or plead no contest to reckless driving, racing, failing to stop for a school bus or running a red light or stop sign.
The 8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Course Online is often called the “judge ordered” traffic school, and it is available for individuals who require a lengthier form of training. Requirement to complete this course most commonly occurs as a result of a judge’s order, based on reckless driving behavior.
The 12-Hour Advanced Driver Improvement Course online is offered for two reasons: to help individuals get their licenses back after they have been suspended or revoked or to fulfill court orders. The lengthiest and most intense course, this option requires a substantial commitment to get back on the road.
Regardless of the course that you are required to take, you have the ability to spend as much time as you need to successfully pass. Individuals must take the course for the minimum time, as indicated in the course name. However, there is no penalty for requiring additional time. This decreases any stress levels in an effort to help individuals complete the courses to the best of their ability.
